The cape itself has some of the most peaceful trails, winding through lush, old-growth Sitka Spruce forest. One of the most prominent headlands on the coast, Cape Lookout juts more than two miles into the sea. Rising some 500 feet above the surf, it is continually pounded by wind and waves. Along with Cape Kiwanda and Cape Meares, Lookout is part of the Three Capes Scenic Route. Cape Lookout State Park is located just 12 miles southwest of Tillamook, Oregon.
