On a Sunday morning when temperatures were below zero, a congregation of Mennonites near Penn Yan NY, in the Finger Lakes region of New York state, headed to their simple country church in horsedrawn carriages and on foot. These women had perhaps walked miles in the freezing cold to attend church services.
