A stock photo of Saxons and Normans practising/practicing their swordmanship before taking part in the re-enactment of the Battle of Hastings at Battle Abbey, near Hastings in East Sussex, England. The original battle on 14th October 1066 had a major effect on English history, with Duke William of Normandy who became William 1st, also known as William the conqueror defeated King Harold Godwinsson, the English King at the time of the battle. The image was captured on 15th October, one day after the 940th anniversary of The Battle of Hastings. Stock photography by Mick Sargent.
