The Norwegian artist Vebjoern Sand took initiative for the bridge. Leonardo da Vinci originally made the drawing for the Turk sultan Bajazel II, who wanted to build a bridge over "The Golden Horn" at the Bospurus strait. The length was to be 240 m long, but the building of the bridge was never carried out. The bridge of to day is 108 m long and is made of tree material.
