Stock photo of the Marilyn Moyer Meditation Chapel at The Grotto in Portland, Oregon during October 06. The chapel is has received both national and international architectural awards. The chapel is 1500 square feetin size, built of polished granite and glass walls. When inside the building, you are physically looking out from the top portionf of a large crossthat is lit up and night and can be seen from quite a distance as you travel south on I-5. The chapel faces the panoramic vista of the Columbia River which separates the states of Oregon and Washington. Mt. St. Helens is in the distance. On a clear day, Mt. Rainer is also visible. The Madonna and Child sculpture was created by American artist, John De Andrea using polyester resin and fiberglass techniques for creating realistic human figures.
