An early to mid 1940s image of a boy about 9 years old wearing an embroidered western shirt sits on the arm of a chair with the arms around the neck of his plump middle-aged mother or perhaps grandmother, who is seated on a chair with a long printed upholstery ruffle at the bottom. They are looking off camera to the viewer's right. Behind them is an end table with a black and white dial desk phone and a white vase with mums. Next to the boy is a 1920s smoking stand. Visible in the next room (the kitchen) is a white refrigerator. Floor is solid light colored linoleum or terrazzo with several seams visible. Image descreened at scan.
