Poster Art-Print Description:
A photograph of one of Kansas City's most popular and grandest movie theaters during the height of the Great Depression, 1933. The movie marquee shows it cost just 25 cents for adult admission, and that the film featured was Helen Hayes and Clark Gable in "The White Sister." The marquee also states, "Never to be Shown Again in this Entire CIty" and boasts a Walt Disney Cartoon, News, and a Hal Roach Comedy to accompany the main feature. A man driving a two-door vehicle was captured on film as the image was shot. Photographed on a slight angle, the image conveys bustling activity and movement.
