Sheep live anywhere from 6-12 years, and survive on grass, mixed grain, and hay. The black sheep are crossbreds which are used for meat and 4-H sheep shows. They only breed once a year. Female sheep are called ewes, male sheep are rams, and castrated males are called wethers.
