With 47,5 meters (155 ft 8 in) height, was built between 1830-1834 after the Russian victory against Napoleon, made with a single piece of red granite, designed by the French-born architect Auguste de Montferrand (the angel at the top was designed by the Russian sculptor Boris Orlovsky and the pedestal by Giovanni Battista Scotti).
