Stock Photo Description: Remote lighthouse on the Hudson River is now a bed and breakfast. A landmark beacon on the Hudson, Saugerties Light is a venerable red-brick lighthouse built in 1869 at the mouth of the Esopus Creek. The Saugerties Lighthouse Conservancy maintains the lighthouse and adjacent lands for public use. Restoration of the historic lighthouse began in 1985 and the light restored to operation in 1990.
