A U.S. Marine from 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment and an Afghan National Police (ANP) officer provide security in Delaram, Farah, Afghanistan, March 23, 2009. The ANP and 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment have partnered to provide security for Delaram citizens in response to two recent insurgent suicide attacks and a plot to harm civilians by planting an improvised explosive device near the bazaar in Delaram. The 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment are part of the ground combat element for the Special Purpose Marine Air Ground Task Force-Afghanistan, which is providing security for the people of Southern Afghanistan.
