A Peruvian sailor fast ropes from an AB-212 Pantera helicopter onto the flight deck of the guided-missile frigate USS Doyle (FFG 39) June 15, 2009, while under way in the Pacific Ocean for the exercise Southern Seas. The sailor is from a maritime interdiction operation group assigned to the Peruvian navy frigate BAP Montero (FM 53). Southern Seas is part of the U.S. Southern Command Partnership of the Americas strategy, and focuses on strengthening relationships in the Southern Command area of focus.
