Stock Photo Description: A stock photo of a medieval encampment at Battle Abbey, five miles north of Hastings in East Sussex,England. Depicting life in the 11th Century,it is part of the re-enactment of The Battle of Hastings which was fought on 14th October 1066, between Duke William of Normandy and Harold Godwinsson the English king at the time of the battle. Harold was killed and William acceded to the English throne. The Norman invasion began with the victory on this very spot, Senlac Field and English history was changed forever.
