The site of The Battle of Hastings in 1066,in which Duke William of Normandy fought and defeated King Harold Godwinsson, thus claiming the English throne for himself, reigning as King William 1st until 1087. The image was captured on 15th October 2006, one day after the 940th anniversary of the battle.
