The most famous battle in English history, fought on 14th October 1066, the outcome of which changed the course of English history. Duke William of Normandy led his Norman army in an invasion of England and defeated King Harold Godwinsson and his Saxon followers at Battle, five miles north of Hastings,claiming the throne of England for himself. England was changed for ever. The image was captured on 15th October 2006.
