From the green argon outlined Bank of America Plaza, to Reunion Tower, to the Flying Red Horse on top of the Magnolia Hotel, these icons have embraced the buildings that comprise the Architecture in Downtown Dallas. Dallas has been selected by Fortune Magazine as the best city in which to do business in the U.S.! As the larger part of the Metroplex, Dallas took a much different approach to development than its counterpart, Fort Worth. As Dallas grew more quickly, older buildings were demolished to construct newer and taller buildings. Fort Worth chose to preserve many of their downtown buildings. Dallas has many fine examples of Modern Architecture, while Fort Worth has many fine examples of historic buildings that have been carefully restored.
