Stock Photo Description: Stock photo showing Kara Mousa Pasha Mosque in Rethymnon Crete Greece September 2008. During the Venetian period the mosque Kara Mousa Passa was a monastery dedicated to St. Barbara. The Turks turned into a mosque and also added the minaret, which has been partially preserved up until today. The yard around the temple displays many Turkish gravestones, the so-called "mezaria", which are excellently ornamented in relief. Today the Kara Mousa Passa building houses the preservation workshop of the Trusteeship of Byzantine antiquities. Stock photography by Mihaela Ninic.
