Stock Photo Description: Stock photo showing illuminated head office of the German Railways at Potsdamer Platz at night, Berlin, Germany, April 2008, low angle view. The Potsdamer Platz is a very special square in Berlin, which - during the Cold War - had been split in two parts and was no man's land between east and west for forty years, untill the seperation of Berlin ended with the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. In pre-war times the Potsdamer Platz used to be one of the busiest (if not the busiest) places in Europe - after the re-unification it was the biggest single derelict space in the heart of a european capital, available for urban development. In the following years the Potsdamer Platz was transformed back into a totally new and modern centre of Berlin, which is a big attraction to people living in Berlin and foreigners visiting Berlin.
