Stock Photo Description: Jackson's Lake, Wy basin originaly was 800 feet deep....Glacial gradualy filled in the basin making lake bottom at 400 feet .....Engeeners built a dam at Jackson Lake in 1910 and 1911 to store irrigaation water for idaho farmers downstream....This dam raised water to 39 feet and enlarging the lake one third and flooded surounding forests....Large achievemnet by Civilian conservatist in the 1930 removed all flooded killed trees.....SSince the water is released to Idaho, water level drops during summer months...Lake becomes more attractive with its warm water to tourists....
