Stock Photo Description: Situated in the northwest of the Champagne-region, Der-Chantecoq lake. A reservoir for the Marne and the biggest artificial lake in France. There are large seasonal variations in het water level (up to 12m) which expose in autumn huge stretches of mudflats which attract waders, geese and ducks. The area is famous for its high numbers of wintering and migrating Common Cranes.
