This famous convent was for many years home to nuns that lived in luxury with servants and regualar parties until higher authorities put a stop to it. The convent (or monestry as it is known) was opened to the public in recent years and the nuns live in a seperate non publlic part. The monestry takes up one whole block in Arequipa and is brightly painted with blue and orange walls.
