Stock Photo Description: This "Calvaire" or Crucifiction scene is a typical example of the rather charming naive religious statuary of Brittany. Small in scale and on a high post, a detailed carving has Christ nailed to the cross with three figures below,a woman and man on either side and one unidentified because of an old break at the foot of the cross which has been repaired with an iron bar,now rusty. The granite of the carving is well weathered and lichen grows on the heads of the figures. It is photographed from below and has a mottled cloudy sky in background.
