Stock Photo Description: This is a photograph taken in an isolated canyon near the Glen Canyon National Recreation area. This canyon is one of the last remaining remnants of series of pristine and wild canyons that were flooded in a series a dams built in the 1960's on the Colorado River. The Glen Canyon dam was the most controversial dam ever built and took over 20 years to completely fill lake Powell with water. Many canyons in the area were flooded.
