Stock Photo Description: This photograph shows a volunteer vet checking a sled dog at the Rainy Pass checkpoint during iditarod 2007. All dogs are checked out by vets at each of the checkpoints along the way. Injured dogs are flown back to a base in Anchorage by bush plane where they are cared for until they are picked up by their mushers after the race.
