Stock Photo Description: We aren't used to torrential rainstorms here in the UK, especially after weeks of bone dry hot weather! A good example of flash flooding. In about forty minutes this was the result in one car park at a local supermarket, the abandoned shopping trolleys and cars trying to exit in the background illustrate how eager people were to get home. This was taken 19th August, 2006 in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, UK, in the car park at Asda Supermarket. The store was also closed as rain began pouring through the roof and other areas of the town had even worse flooding, causing the water and fire sevices to turn out and the town was also gridlocked with traffic trying to leave for some time.
