Stock Photo Description:Hibiscus syriacus 'Bluebird', a French-raised Rose of Sharon cultivar dating from the 1950s. Long though to have been native to western Asia, the parent species is actually from China, though introduced to Europe around 500 years ago. The hardy deciduous cultivars should not be confused with the evergreen tropical hibiscus.
