Stock Photo Description: A stock photo of an example of Saxon life as lived in England a thousand years ago. This is part of a reenactment of The Battle of Hastings, which takes place every year.The battle was fought on 14th October 1066 between Duke William of Normandy and King Harold Godwinsson. The battle took place on Senlac Hill about five miles north of Hastings, within the grounds of Battle Abbey in Battle, East Sussex. The image was captured on 15th October 2006, one day after the 940th anniversary of the battle which changed English history forever. Stock photography by Mick Sargent.
