Stock Photo Description: This is a photograph of a bald eagle landing on a piece of driftwood near Kachemak Bay, Alaska. Bald Eagles latin name is haliaeetus leucocephalus and was listed as an endangered species in 1967 in all areas south of the 40th parallel. The Northern Species found north of 40 degree lattitiude is not endangered. The bald eagle today is closer to being delisted.
